Introduction
If you, your employer or your customers have high demands on security, this is the right course for you, whether you should work on an oil platform in the North Sea or cleaning high windows in Stockholm. IRATA – Industrial Rope Access Trade Association is the only certification program for industrial use of rope that is recognized internationally both for work at sea and on land.
After completing the course and theory, you are approved as an IRATA-certified industrial climber – a global certification and standard for industrial rope access.
Course Content IRATA Level 1
Level 1 is the first stage in a three-stage training. As a participant, you can expect a week of hard training, both physically and mentally.
- Rigging, knots
- Safe operation and use of equipment
- Various rope manouvers
- Technical climbing
- Simple rescues
- Background and Theory
- Laws and standards
The week concludes with a practical and theoretical examination by an independent examiner.
Course Content IRATA Level 2
Level 2 is the second stage in the three stage training program, and builds on the knowledge and experience from IRATA level 1. During the course you go into more rescue procedures and an introduction to more advanced rigging techniques.
- Review of level 1 methods
- Rescue from rope clamps
- Hoisting and lowering of a person in an emergency
- Introduction to advanced rescue
- Level 2 theory
- Equipment selection, inspection, maintenance and servicing
- Laws and regulations
The week concludes with a practical and theoretical examination by an independent examiner.
Previous knowledge:
Level one IRATA must be completed within the previous three years along with 1000 hours worked on ropes under IRATA® standard.
Course Content IRATA Level 3
Level 3 is the third and highest level of IRATA’s triple stage training. The course builds on the participant’s experience and prepares them for the role of security manager, supervisor, rigger and rescue leader.
A major reason for IRATA’s unbeatable safety records is due to the precise requirements of the supervisor.
