Introduction

Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is an association of owners and manufacturers of wind turbines. It’s goal is to create and support an injury-free work environment within the wind industry. GWO has developed a standard for basic safety training. The purpose of this standard is to develop a joint training of health and safety as an important and necessary way forward to reduce the risk to staff working on wind turbines. The standard was established in February 2012 and we established Rope Access Safety Training AB soon after, on November of the same year, the first in Sweden to become GWO Certified. Vestas, Siemens, Suzlon and Vattenfall are some of the companies behind the standard and which require this training to gain access to their sites.
